In class 8th NCERT book, in Exercise 6.1 of chapter Square and Square Roots, Students:
- are introduced to the concept of Squares (or perfect squares), and they
- learn how to identifying squares & non square numbers
- get to know about the different ways to represent square numbers (like, the representation where the squares are written as the sum of odd numbers)
- get acquainted to patterns related to squares
In a nutshell, exercise 6.1 deals only with squares. Students learn how to identify whether a give number is a perfect square or not, and other questions like how to represent a given perfect cube as the sum of odd numbers.
