15 multiplication table
How to learn or teach the table of 15 to kids?
First ask the students "There are 15 apples and 15 bananas, how many fruits are there?". Let them solve the problem using any method they know, if they known double digit addition, it will be quite easy from there on. If not, it is a great way to introduce them to double digit addition. As you keep on adding different types of fruits, it will be more difficult to count them on fingers; in that moment tell them to solve using double digit addition. Use the sample lesson plan given below.
(i) If there are two packs with 16 toffees each, ask the children to find the total number of toffees.
15
+ 15
------
30
-------
15 times two (or 2 fifteens) give 30.
That is, 15x 2 = 30
Here tell the child that when we have 2 fifteens, we get a thirty. Then make the child say it loud : 15 times two (or 2 fifteens) is 30.
That is, 15x 2 = 30
(ii) If there are 3 packs with 15 cookies each. Ask the children to find the total number of cookies.
15
15
+ 15
------
45
-------
15 times three (or 3 fifteens) give 45.
That is, 15 x 3 = 45
(iii) Ask the children to find the total number of legs if there are 15 dogs.
15
15
15
+ 15
------
60
-------
15 times four (or 4 fifteens) give 60.
That is, 15x 4 = 60
(iv) If there are 5 friends each one having 15 toy cars. Ask the kids to find the total number of cars.
15
15
15
15
+ 15
------
80
-------
15 times five (or 5 fifteens ) give 75.
That is, 15 x 5 = 75
(v) If there are 6 camps with 15 teachers each, ask the children to find the total number of teachers.
15
15
15
15
15
+ 15
------
90
-------
15 times six (or 6 fifteens) give 90.
That is, 15 x 6 = 90
(vi) If there are 7 boxes each having 15 toys. Ask the kids to find the total number of toys.

15
+ 15
------
105
-------
15 times seven (or 7 fifteens) give 105.
That is, 15 x 7 = 105
(vii) If there are eight books and each book has 15 pages. Ask the children to find the total number of pages.

+ 15
------
120
-------
15 times eight (or 8 fifteens) give 120.
That is, 15x 8 = 120
